Fox Property Restoration Unit: This 40-acre project adds to the network of complex ecosystems that provides critical wildlife habitat near Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge.
Beach and Wetland Improvements at Maumee Bay State Park: The first featured project addresses BUI 10: Beach Closings, and the second project addresses BUI 3: Degradation of Fish and Wildlife Populations, and BUI 14: Loss of Wildlife Habitat.
Penn 7: The restoration of a former confined disposal facility in the heart of Toledo provides quality habitat for area fish and wildlife and improves water quality.
Maumee State Forest: Over 100 acres of unique Oak Openings habitat were restored from former agricultural land to create quality habitat for native plants and wildlife.
Oak Openings Conservation Area: Four separate tracts of land (~30 acres) were restored to valuable quality Oak Openings habitat to provide protection for a number of threatened and endangered species and to create corridors between neighboring tracts of protected areas.
Sandhill Crane Wetlands: 280 acres of former farmland restored to critical wet and upland prairie providing hydrologic benefits to wildlife habitats and rainfall storage.
Toussaint Marsh State Wildlife Area: Hydrologic connections between 125 acres of coastal zone wetlands and the Toussaint River were restored for the benefit of resident and migratory fish and wildlife.

The Maumee AOC Committee works toward fishable and swimmable waters in the Maumee Area of Concern and delisting the beneficial use impairments. The Committee is working towards all major restoration projects being completed by 2025, through collaboration of partners and volunteer opportunities by its facilitating organization, Partners for Clean Streams. The committee is made up of representatives from various organizations, citizens, businesses and non-government agencies to build long term solutions to the area’s water quality issues.
